Who’s behind it?
Hidden Pictures’ producer Todd Lieberman won the film rights to The Housemaid by Freida McFadden in a four-way auction. Lieberman has produced notable films such as “Beauty and the Beast” and “Wonder”.
Lieberman will be producing the film for Lionsgate. Lionsgate has a strategic partnership with the book publisher, Bookouture, and is financing the acquisition of the film rights.
Rebecca Sonnenshine has been tapped to pen the screenplay for the adaptation of The Housemaid into a feature film for Lionsgate. Sonnenshine is a writer and producer who known for her work on The Boys (2019) and The Vampire Diaries (2011). She’s also the creator and showrunner for Netflix’s Archive 81.
