What It's About: In these nine stunningly original, provocative, and poignant stories, Ted Chiang tackles some of humanity’s oldest questions along with new quandaries only he could imagine.

In “Exhalation,” an alien scientist makes a shocking discovery with ramifications that are literally universal. In “Anxiety Is the Dizziness of Freedom,” the ability to glimpse into alternate universes necessitates a radically new examination of the concepts of choice and free will.

This is so awesome. Thank you! I love SciFi but I have only read Recursion. I need to make some of these a priority!
ooo yeah, I really liked Recursion. I’d say if I had to pick one one other book on this list that was high on my list of to-reads, it’d probably be Exhalation — I’ve just heard so, so many good things about it.
Thank you so much for compiling this list. I’ve got a couple of those that I’m working on, but so nice to see a full list I can look back on when I’m ready for my next sci fi read.
thanks for checking it out! glad to be of service and happy reading! :)
For some reason theres a bunch of random code appearing in place of what I assume is supposed to be photos…maybe because I’m on mobile it’s showing up funny?
thanks for the heads up! are you reading this on the wordpress reader or via RSS? the shortcode sometimes doesn’t convert to normal text via RSS/wordpress reader unfortunately :(
I was using the wordpress app on mobile. I’ll just read it on my computer haha
Thanks for sharing this great list! I’m always wanting to read more sci-fi and a few were already on my list but many are new to me! I’m really curious about Wanderers now — it sounds so good 😍
yeah reading more sci-fi has been on my to-do list as well — I’ve heard good things about Wanderers but the big caveat on that one is that it’s reaaally long haha (800 pages!) but I agree the plot sounds really good!
Oh holy tome! I had no clue 😅 Always scary when they’re that big haha hopefully the plot develops at a decent rate to keep it interesting!
Great list! I need to check out so many of these, especially Exhalation. I have read The Outside and really enjoyed that one.
Will check these out. Thanks!
