This is my local bookstore, Spectator Books in Oakland. They are always nice to my dog and give her treats when we go in.
The first bookstore I ever loved was my local Barnes and Noble when I was growing up. I know it is very uncool love a corporate bookstore, but I loved going there. (And I ended up working there for two summers when I was in high school, and it was as glorious as I’d hoped it would be.)
What’s your favorite bookstore, and what do you love about it?
I sketched this on a tablet as part of my on-going attempt to try to get better at art stuff. It’s a hobby that’s a work in progress, but I’ve found it’s a good activity to do while listening to audiobooks.
P.S. See more posts from The Illustrated Bibliofile.
This is such a cute sketch! I’m from a rather small town and my favorite bookstore was a Barnes & Noble, because it was the only bookstore we had! They did a great job with having tons of community events, which was really nice. Happy reading and sketching!
thank you so much! glad to hear I’m not the only one who loved a B&N haha! thanks for the encouragement!
